Last Friday in August!!

Some more painting projects to add to my list. I have my wood cut and I'm ready to go. Some more really great things to paint for my kitchen.

Finally decided on just plain old black for my Kitchen "EAT" letters. I purchased several kinds of scrapbook paper and none of them seem to be just right.

My girl says...it's too hot let me back in....but she says have a fabulous weekend! Be safe and stay cool....I'm going in.....

Internet Explorer 8 problems

I downloaded IE8. Now I'm having problems with my blog. Things are disappearing, like my background. My signature went back to being in a box. All which I'm hoping can be fixed. I had just read the article that talks about problems with IE8 and blogspot. I thought it couldn't happen to me....well it has...So if any of you out there have downloaded the latest IE8, I wouldn't do it if you don't have to. I wish now I wouldn't have.

Prayers and Blessings! Sandy :)

Little Tex Stitchery

Finished this Little Tex Stitchery pattern, I purchased it last year at Houston Quilt show. I shrunk the pattern down with the idea that I was going to make a little sewing notion purse. I have everything cut, it's just a matter of sitting down and making it. I will post pictures when I'm done with it. There is actually more patterns that go with this little stitchery.

Happy crafting!

Shopping at Mom's (decorating on a slim budget)

Went shopping at moms on Saturday. Here is some of what I found (remember slim budget)
#1 Thing was this shelf....aka plate and cup holder. It was gold, I painted it black. Gold wouldn't go to well on yellow walls. It really looks alot better! I also brought back a few plates, (she has tons of plates) but I only wanted a few. I don't want to go too crazy with rooster plates. Then I added a few spoons and some red checkered dish towels and TaDah! It looks kinda French country to me!
#2 Rooster picture (painted window screen). The frame was green, I repainted it black and added some white to the edges. I was going to use red, but red didn't cover over the green. Then I just added a black and white small checkered ribbon to hang it with. The Rooster looks lonely, but I'm sure over time I will add something.

George Strait concert on Saturday and Painted Gourds

Well saturday I went to see King George!!! George Strait that is.....he was fantastic as usual!!!
Sugarland & Blake Sheldon was great also. Didn't get to see Julianne Hough.

Today I painted some gourds really bright colors. For some reason you can't tell the walls are yellow. I really like my gourds!

Monday

While running around Saturday to get a another brush to finish painting I stopped in at a quilt store, I couldn't resist picking up a bag of what they called "chicken feed". It's basically the ends of material cut off from the bolts. I didn't care, it's strips of fabric and it didn't cost me $40 dollars, the grab bag only cost $5. Whoo Hoo....can't wait to make something!

Finally finished painting the kitchen yellow. It really freshened it up! All the cow stuff is packed up.
