Finally! paper bag swap pictures

I guess it's better late than never...here are some pictures of what I made for my swap partner and what I received in return.  This was fun.  I had a great time figuring out what to make for Jammie.  What we did was she had to send me 2 fat quarters and some embroidery thread. I had to also send her 2 fat quarters and embroidery thread.

Here is what  I made for Jammie:

My pictures are out of order....but I'm just going with it..........as you can see the above is a bird.  Hard to see the embroidery thread around the wings, tail and eyes.  Next is the fabric and thread before cutting.

Then I decided on a mug run...I just made this up as I went.  Really a bad picture.  The applique is a flower and a leaf.  I embroidered in the corners of the squares.  Machine appliqued the flower and the leaf.

Next is what I received from Jammie.  I sent her the (and it's hard to see) the Chicken fabric, the black and white checkered fabric and red embroidery thread.  We could also send extra decorations.  I sent buttons, ( I love all kinds of button), and some rick rack, I also love rick rack.  Jammie done such a fabulous job quilting. she even did a really great thing on the back....see next picture.

Thanks again Jammie and many thank to Darlene of Snickerdoodle dreams for hosting this swap!
More pictures later of my current projects I made for my sister.
Have a great weekend!

Need Help! posting tutorial

Hello, just thought I would drop in and see if I can post this crocheted African motif. My problem is I've been in IT for 20 plus years and I don't understand how to put a file on this blog so that it can be downloaded.  I would post it directly to the blog but it's long, so I though I would do file share, but I'm not understanding how to get it to work.  Can anyone out there help at all!!!
I tried to use 4Share but I don't understand it.  HELP!

On another note I do hope all of you are fairing well in our hot summer.  I love summer, don't care how hot it is. It's so much better than dull dreary winter.....In the summer there is tons of things to do.....but when one works 7 days a week it's hard to get to do any fun activities.... boo hoo!  ok some whine with my cheese please.
Question:
Any of you out there working on any kind of great projects.  If you are please let me know, I would love to talk about your projects.
How about recipes.  I would love to share some recipes....how about favorites......tell me come on.........lets make it favorite summer time recipes.
well I'm going to make this it for now.. till next time...Happy stitchen trails........:) Yee Haw!!!

African crocheted motif

Howdy, just stopping in to say Hey.  I've been busy as usual, but just wanted to stop in post about my little motif that I crocheted.  I think it turned out really great!  What do you think? It's an African crocheted motif.  I know the colors may be weird, but that's the only ones I had available to try.  If you want the pattern let me know I will try to post it.
