From snow to Spring?

Well last week it's snowed a little bit.  Really hard to believe it in the south.  Miss P didn't like it all.  It melted as soon as it hit the ground.
Well I don't know about you all, but for me I'm so ready for Spring. I don't think I've ever been colder in my entire life, as I've been this winter.  My pansies did ok this winter.  This one of my many favorite flowers.

I think these above are Jonquils.   I dug them up from a lake house, the owner just wanted to get rid of them.  I really love them.  Some of God's fabulous creations. These tiny flowers have those tiny green dots on each pedel.  How beautiful is that!

These are some sort of violets.  I've had them for a very very long time.  I moved them from my previous home.  They have a very special meaing to me.  They came from an Aunt by marriage who had a great green thumb.  They make great borders for flower beds.  They multiply.

And on another note, I'm puzzled by the fact that I get visitors on my blog but no one leaves comments.  Is it the fact that I'm boring you all to death or you just don't feel comfortable leaving a comment.  Even a "hello" would do.  Please don't be shy.  Or let me know what you want to see here on this blog.  I know your saying I can get better material on other blogs.  Well if you feel that way let me know.  I want to improve my blog.  So leave me a comment and let me know.  And please no negative comments, all positive!

Prayers and Blessings
Sandy

Random thoughts.

I know it's been awhile since my last post.  I do however have several things to post about but not much time.  I am currently sitting at the Chevrolet dealer getting my truck worked on.  I was up late last night taking an assesment test for a full time purchasing job.  (Pray for me that it all goes well and I at least get an interview) I really need a full time job.  I will be moving in the future, so a secure job is very much needed.
On another note I met a new co-worker at my part time job and she has an inspirational story about her sister.  I will be posting about this in the future.  I've got to get busy on some projects again.  I hope all of you are doing well out there in blog land.  More later!

I know it's a little late for "Happy Friday" but anyway I wish all of you an excellent weekend.  With that in mind a dear friend sent me this link to this website.  I want to share it with all of you.  I have checked out some of it but not all of it.  It has some really good inspirational messages, and lots of other things so go over and check it out and see how great it is.   In the future my dear sweet sister will be posting here along with me.  Can't wait for that.

Instructions for making flower on crocheted hat.

Ok lets try this.    Here are the instructions for making that little flower thats on the crocheted hat.  I hope to see some that you all make out there.
Make some circles out of paper.  You can use any size.  Then cut your circles out.  You can cut 4, 5, or 6 circles.  Depends how you want your flower to look.

After you have your circles cut out, fold circle in half.

Then fold circle in half a second time.

Stitch a gathering stitch at what I call the bottom of the peddle.

Gather up the stitches at the bottom and sewn it so that it doesn't come apart.

All the peddles sewn together.

Finished flower.  Now I'm not that crazy about this flower now that I've taken a picture of it.  But you can see what you can do with this little flower.  You could also layer smaller flower peddles instead of the yo yo's.  And of course you can also make a covered button for the center.

Instructions for making flower on crocheted hat and Link for crocheted hat

I have gotten a request to give out the info for the flower thats on the crocheted hat and the crocheted hat pattern.
For some reason I can't get the link to work for the Hat pattern.  So all I can do for now is tell you that the pattern came from Lion brand yarn company web site.  It's pattern 743 Ribbed Scarf and Brimmed Hat.
For the flower pattern, the only thing I can do at the moment is I can email it to you, I have it written in Microsoft Word.  This is the only way I can do this (until I figure something else out).  Please leave me a comment with your email address if you want the flower pattern.

Good morning! Joy In Every Day!

Good morning! I finally found some time to post before I go off to my little pt job. Tia looks so peaceful here in the morning. I'm still trying to get over my cold. Thanks to all who posted and wished me well wishes!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

When it was really cold here awhile back, I decided I needed a hat. Well I finally finished it! This was a free pattern online. I had to modify the size because I didn't have the crochet hook that the pattern called for, but it all worked out in the end. It fits my head, and covers my ears just enough. I hadn't crocheted in years. What a fun project.

Flower that I made to go on the hat.

Hello and I hope everyone is doing great. Sorry I haven't been able to post in while, but I've been a little busy. I am working on a secret project that I'm hoping to publish.

But I also want to send up special prayers for those in Haiti:

We Thank you father for the blessings you have poured out on our land, please help those in Haiti recover from this horrible ordeal. Strengthen those who are going over to help and give them spiritual guidance when they see all the pain and suffering in that country. We ask this in Jesus name Amen!

Dedication to my Dad at Christmas time!

I'm going to dedicate this post to my wonderful Dad! He has been gone since 1995. He really got into Christmas. He was like a big kid. He would open his presents and them sit them aside, we would all be wondering what he got that he didn't show us. He really made the most at Christmas for us kids. I think it's because he had it so hard when he was growing up and he didn't want his kids to be with out. What else can I say he was a wonderful man! I miss him everyday! His favorite Christmas song was Silent Night. And one of his favorite singers was Johnny Cash. As you can hear I did add that song to my playlist. It's for you Dad, I hope your looking down on us!
To all of you out there in blog land, I don't know any of you but I'm blessed that you visit my blog.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!Many blessings to you all!!!

This is mom and dad long ago. Not sure what year this was, but they sure did take a great photo together, except for the tree lite blurr.

Isn't this a great Christmas decorating item. It's a little large for my small tree, I just put it here until I figure out what to do with it. I think maybe next year I'll put it on a wreath.

I needed a give for a dear friend, so I decided to make not only a jewelry pouch, but also a tea and sugar packet holder and a purse size tissue holder. I thought the matching set was a great idea. She really loved it!

Jewelry pouch bags, they make great gifts!!!

Howdy! I hope everyone is doing great. I've been busy as a one armed man in a fighting match! I had my part time work (Soma intimates) Christmas party on Sunday. So not having a full time job, I had to think of something to do with out spending much money. We could only spend $10. Well that was easy. so I went to TJ Maxx, got a really cute jewelry dish, ($3.99) So then I had a plan to make a jewelry pouch. I found the pattern online. so I made one. When Kellye opened up her gift from me, everyone really liked what I had made. Then they insisted that I make more of them so Diane could sell them at her jewelry shows. She said make some by Wednesday of this week and I'll see if I can sell some for you. So between working part time ( more hours because our stock person is gone) and trying to find a full time job, then having to make some of these bags. Well I did it! They turned out great. I took them to Diane today for her jewelry party tonight. Guess I'll find out how I did on Thursday.

All my jewelry pouch's. I was only able to make 9 of them. It was alot of work, but I did it. Whoo Hoo!!!

My Santa with his sleigh of toys. Painted by me. Another treasured thing. The class I took way back when was taught by Jackie Spell. She's a wonderful decorative artist and teacher.

My little tree. I've had this tree for years. Thought I would put it up again this year to save money. (instead of going and buying a real tree). After I look at this picture, it seems as though there is alot of ornaments on it, but there really isn't. One of my treasured Christmas thing is the elves climbing up the ladder. (see them at the bottom right) Sorry the picture isn't really good. Most things are hand crafted. Some painted by me.

Just wanted to post about my Pasta Fagioli soup I made last Friday. While I was trying to post the recipe I used, we had a power outage. So here is the recipe.
I received my package from my swap partner for the cookie cutter swap. I will be posting about it.

Pasta Fagioli
2 stalks of celery chopped
1 onion chopped
3 cloves of garlic minced
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
salt to taste
(I also added fresh ground black pepper)
1- 14.5 oz can chicken broth
2 medium tomatoes peeled and chopped
(I used 1 can of tomatoes)
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 cup uncooked spinach pasta
(I used Whacky Mac veggie shaped pasta)
1 15 oz can cannellini beans with liquid
I added cut up chicked breast to mine.
I wanted some meat in my soup.
In large pan over medium heat cook celery, onion,
garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, Red pepper & salt
until onion is translucent, I then add,my cut up chicken
I put in my garlic at the last so that it wouldn't
get too brown. Stir in chicken broth, tomatoes,
tomato sauceand simmer low for 15 to 20 minutes.
Add pasta and cook 1o minutes.
( I cooked my pasta seperate then added in)
Add undrained beans and mix well.
Heat through, serve warm.
Sprinkle with Parmeasan cheese.
I served mine with toasted french bread and a salad
with Tuscan Italian dressing.
It was really good!
